What can I expect?

Join our friendly and professional instructors for a mellow half day of climbing at the beautiful and Scenic Stone Cliff Inn.  Take some time to relax and enjoy the forested trails and aesthetic cliff side while learning the basics of outdoor climbing and sampling some great beginner friendly climbs.

As an added bonus, this beautiful climbing area is located directly above the famed Stone Cliff Inn.  A casual dining establishment equipped with a fully stocked bar, extensive menu, and great views of the surrounding area.  Visit the Inn after a long day on the rock to relax with friends and share stories over fantastic food and drink.

Trip Details

Pre-Trip Essentials

All participants must be 18 years old and fill out a separate Carver Climbing Club waiver here.

All of the necessary technical gear will be provided for your outing.  This includes a climbing harness, climbing shoes, and helmet.  Please bring along all clothing and personal items listed below.  Safety and comfort are insured through proper preparation.

  • Be sure to eat a full meal before departing for the trip
  • A small backpack to carry small personal items such as sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and snacks.
  • Sturdy footwear suitable for hiking
  • Weather appropriate attire including: + A fleece, wool sweater, or insulating jacket for warmth + Waterproof shell, or any available rain jacket
  • Clothing that will be comfortable for physical activity
  • Cotton is not recommended

Day of Climb

Guests will meet their PRG guide on the day of the climb at a predetermined time in the parking lot of the Stone Cliff Inn, located in Carver, Oregon.

Total trip time, including hike in and proper pre-climb preparations is 4 hours from start to finish.
